February 28

A quick update from Idaho. No baby yet. That's right, we are still waiting for his sweet little arrival. The doctors appointment on Tuesday went good. The doctor tried to get us in for an induction but labor and delivery did not have any openings for us until MONDAY MARCH 3!!!! That's right, we are waiting till then hoping that maybe he will come before then. We did lots of walking on Tuesday and took a short drive to Idaho Falls where there are a few more shops and a bigger mall than here. Other than that we have been relaxing. Amanda came down with the flu, not throwing up, just a really bad cough, runny nose, fever, body aches, the whole thing. So we have been lounging around hoping she will get better soon. She is feeling lots better today and we hope she is on the up swing.
In the meantime our little Hollie went to spend some time with Nana, Ryan's mom. She flew in on Sunday and is staying with her sister in Rexburgh. Hollie went up yesterday and from what I hear she is having the time of her life. I received a picture text last night of Hollie sitting on a stool in the kitchen getting a pedicure and manicure. It's was sooo adorable. I know she is in heaven just loving spending the time with Nana. I spoke with Gayl, Ryan's mom, this morning and they were planning on going shopping and just having a fun day. Thanks Gayl!
Anyway, that's about it here. Amanda and I are going to hang out maybe eat some ice cream and see what else she may be up to. Have a great day and I will post again later.

Still Waiting

So, to give an update on all of our home remedies, NONE OF THEM HAVE WORKED!!!!!!!! We even took her to get acupuncture on Thursday and all that did was give her hard contractions and then, believe it or not, they went away. Well, since we have done every trick up our sleve the contractions have subsided and we are back to square one. I have to be completely honest, yes we are a bit frustrated, but really we have all laughed about it. This boy is one STUBBORN kid and he is going to come when he feels like it!! That's okay, we atleast know he is on his way and will come into this world when HE wants to. I always thought I was a patient person, but this is teaching me more patients along with a darling little princess I have here with me too. I think this whole experience is a patience tester for me and I hope I am passing and doing a good job. All I do know is going through a 9 month pregnancy would be really difficult for me. Hollie was 3 weeks notice and this little guy was 3 1/2 months notice, oh my heavens.
Anyway, like I think I said in the last post we have a doctors appointment on Tuesday and we will see what happens from there. He said he was going to go ahead and induce her if she doesn't have him by Tuesday but we are not sure of the induction date. No worries, I will keep you updated.
So, I have to say that my little Hollie is just the cutest thing ever. I know it's difficult for her to be here because we are in a small apartment and there really isn't much she can do, but we are doing our best. I let her play with my cell phone every so often and today she had my phone and was putting it up to Jesus' ear and saying, "Hello". (They have a small statue of Jesus sitting on their end table). It was the cutest thing ever. I told her that we can talk to Jesus through prayer and then she folded her arms, oh she is such a doll and soooo smart. I want her to know that I love her so much. My favorite part of the day is when we go to bed and I crawl in bed with her (her and I are sleeping on a twin bed together, yes quite the experience with someone who rolls ALL over) and I cuddle up right next to her and put my arm around her. She always puts her hand on my face and leaves it there. I am so grateful for my sweet little angel. I love her so much and just doing that and having her cuddle up with me makes every day worth it. I have to admit that will be something that I will miss when we get home. Hollie is talking so well and knows each one of the girls names here and every time they leave she always says bye. Then when they come home Hollie is right there to greet them. They love her and she loves them. I am grateful to them for making us feel so comfortable and letting us hang out here with them, thanks guys.
Well, I better get to bed. It's late and I need some sleep. Hopefully we have good news tomorrow

Home Remedies?????

Well, as I said I would update you all on today's doctors appt. I am sorry you all are having to read my daily updates, but right now this is like my journal. Anyway, the doctors went well. She has dilated to a two and we are slowly but surely on our way. If she doesn't have the baby by next Tuesday the doctor is going to induce labor, lets hope he's here by then. With that much said we were off to do lots of walking. We walked the small, yes small, Pocatello mall for 3 1/2 hours. Not much progress just the same...continual contractions but just not painful. Once we got home we decided we should look up on the computer home remedies to induce labor. Oh, my goodness the suggestions they give, crazy!!! We picked a few and started to try them. We decided on having castro oil be our last resort if the others didn't work. So, we started with the pressure points. There is one on the inside of your leg just above the ankle bone and the other is between your thumb and your index finger. We did those for a bit and decided to make a run to the store to get the tea and castro oil. We read and heard that Raspberry tea helps so we got some of that and we were looking for some kind of sage but we couldn't find it so we decided against that one. When we got home we made a nice big glass of Hot Raspberry tea and started a hot bath. Ryan told us to put some of the tea bags in the bath tub so she did that too. After the bath and tea she wasn't feeling much change so she decided, what the heck I might as well try the castro oil. I couldn't believe it, I have heard that stuff is just nasty!!!!!!!!!! All of her roommates and I thought it would be good to pull out the video camera for this one so we did. We got the whole process on video and she did a fantastic job. She had lots of support and her roommates were all cheering her on throughout the process, chug it, chug it. It was discusting, but thank goodness for the chocolate milk and sherbet ice cream we had sitting close by. After that we all sat around and laughed and watched the video. I tell ya my stomach hasn't hurt that bad from laughing in a really long time. Then we talked to Ryan and updated him and he said she wasn't suppose to drink it she was suppose to put it on a cloth and put it on her stomach with a hot pack. Oh as you all can imagine we started laughing so hard. (We had heard from a few friends that castro oil works if you drink it too.) So, our next remedy was just that. We pulled out a cloth and hot pack and she is currently laying on the couch. Oh, my poor girl. I feel so bad for her. She is one awesome girl and we all love her to death. As you can tell, with having contractions for the last two days she is ready for this baby to come out!! I will keep you posted on our home remedies and how they all work. Thanks for listening and I hope you all got a great laugh because we all did here.

False Alarm

Well, today made for an eventful day. We had a stress test today and our little Ethan had a high heartrate for about 45 minutes. The normal heartrate should be around 150 and Ethan's was around 170. Durring this course of time he was extremely active, which isn't unusual but in all the other stress tests that we have had they have been normal. Well, they ended up watching him for another 30 minutes and it ended up staying in the normal range. I thinks its because he calmed down a bit.
During the stress test Amanda started getting pretty consistent contractions, but of course they still sent us home because she had only had them for about a half hour. Once we got home they still had not stopped. She had something to eat, ran a paper to one of her classes and once she got home they still continued. The only difference with these was that they were not "hard" enough. Well, 5 hours went by and they were still going. Amanda thought maybe we should go to the hospital and see if she is progressing any. We had the Bishops wife take Hollie and off we went to the hospital with wishful thinking. By the time we got there Amanda was feeling sick to her stomach, her face was flushed and she was really hoping she was progressing. They hooked her up to all the monitors watched the baby's heartrate and "checked" her and there wasn't much progress. So, ofcourse, they had us walk around the hospital for a half hour and when we came back there was still no change. To make a long story shorter we are home tonight, she was in bed at 9 and we are all still anxiously awaiting our baby boy's arrival. She seems to be following the same pattern as Hollie. She didn't dilate much with her until the end, so we'll see what happens tomorrow. We have a doctors appt. in the morning and we will see what the doc says. No worries, I'll keep you all update.

NOT YET!!!

No baby Ethan yet. We are hoping soon, but we keep saying that. All I know is that he is going to come when he feels he's ready and I am willing to wait. We just want him to be nice and healthy.

So, in waiting we haven't done much. Last night Amanda had to work so Hollie and I hung out with her roommate, Cassidy, and her boyfriend, Chad. We had a lot of fun. We went over to Chad's sisters house and played dance dance revolution. Oh my goodness, it was so much fun. I am not big on video games but this wasn't like your normal video game. You were active and dancing along with the music and what the arrows told you to do. I don't know how to explain it except it was lots of fun. Hollie enjoyed it too, but wanted me to hold her everytime I did it, that made it more of a work out for me, but I needed it! It was lots of fun. Thanks Chad and Cassidy for a fun evening.
Well, hopefully next time I post there will be some good news.

It's Freezing Here!!

I just thought you would all like to know that it is currently 9 degrees outside this morning. Our high is suppose to be in the upper 20's. Burrrr!

On Wednesday we received about 4 inches of snow. It snowed all day and I loved it as long as we were inside. At one point the snow flakes were as big as a silver dollar, No joke!!! Everyone here was in awe at how big they were, it was crazy. And ofcourse our little Hollie just loved it. She stood by the window and continued to say, "snow snow". It was adorable. She even said bye to it when she would walk away, too cute! I took some pictures of the snow because it was so beautiful and I thought you would all like to see it.

Well, still no baby yet. We went to the doctors on Wednesday and she is dilating, but nothing yet. Hopefully soon because not only are we all anxious but Hollie and I really miss daddy. I think this is going to be the longest I have ever been away from him and I sure do miss him. Valentine's Day was good but just another day here. I was glad to know that Ryan received our Valentine's card on Valentine's day, that made me happy. Hollie and I just hung out at the apartment and enjoyed our time together as mother daughter. I am beginning to slowly realize that it isn't just going to be Hollie and I much longer and I might as well really enjoy the moments I do have with just her. She is my girl and always will be, I love you Hollie.

Living Life in the FAST Lane

Wow, where do I even begin. Well, first let me give a quick update. As many of you have probably tried to get on to our blog you found out that it's no longer there. I have changed the blog name and I apologize for the inconvenience. I felt that a few changes needed to take place and along with that I am going to be going private. I also apologize for that inconvenience too. I feel it will be better and a little bit safer for my family. Please send me an email letting me know you want to view our blog and I will add you to the invite list. Thanks a bunch!!
Lets see now where? Last week was crazy and it brought me to the beautiful COLD state of Idaho. Yes, I am here. There is no baby yet, but hopefully soon. She has been having contractions and we felt that since I have the opportunity to be in the delivery room I should come up here so I can make sure I am here. I will for sure let everyone know what happens and pictures will come very soon after. The weather here is freezing for us, but warm to those who live here. We are suppose to be getting a storm tomorrow and were excited for that. That will be a day we stay inside, except Amanda has a doctors appointment tomorrow so we'll see what happens from there. We are enjoying ourselves and anxiously awaiting the birth of our little Ethan.
I ofcourse, have to give a update on our big girl Hollie. Oh, she is just adorable and getting so big. I have a couple cute stories to tell you about. When we were packing and getting ready to come up here, mind you that was a CRAZY day for us, Hollie decided to do a few things to get attention. I had just cleaned her room, made her bed and it was all pretty for when we come home. I walked in a few minutes later because I heard this noise and she had pulled the curtains down in her room, took apart her bed, and was juming on the bed-crazy girl. I just had to laugh. So I sat down and read a couple books and gave her some attention. We then went downstairs and I gave her some snacks and put in her favorite movie, Elmo. I went back upstairs and continued packing. I came downstairs a few minutes later to grab something and check on Hollie and there she was on top of the entertainment center trying to get a Barney dvd. I laughed once again and thought to myself she must know what is going on because she isn't making this packing process very easy on me. I guess she decided she wanted to watch Barney instead of Elmo and thought she could climb up to get it. Oh, my heavens she has just become a climber and what do I do? This whole new baby thing is going to be a bit more difficult than I thought if she is doing all this for attention. I am sure I will have more fun stories to tell as baby brother arrives. As of right now she is hanging out with a bunch of college girls and is enjoying every bit of the attention. Last night she was putting on a show for us for about 45 minutes, it was hilarious. Oh, she is so cute and I love her so much.
